Eilidh Steel (Soundpost Arts) is a traditional Scottish musician and composer from Helensburgh, Argyllshire on the West coast of Scotland. Her family are all keen on photography and over the last five years it has become a bit of an obsession to her.

Eilidh is dyslexic and thinks this is a great (although sometimes frustrating!) way to be, giving her a different perspective and a more picture orientated way of thinking. Her photos are an expression of how she see’s the world around us. Eilidh is known to often stop while out walking and get distracted by beautiful and sometimes fragile things that most people wouldn’t even notice; shells, trees, leaves, ladybirds, shadows, etc..

She named the art side of her life ‘Soundpost Arts’ as Eilidh is a fiddler, and the fiddle family are the only instruments to have soundposts inside them, without which they couldn’t make their distinctive sound.
